There are thousands of used laptop for sale of the market, but why do you have to buy a used laptop notebook.

Used laptop for sale are usually very cheap, and that is wh a lot of people rush for such laptop notebooks, but the truth is that, most of them regret after some months. It just turns out their laptop notebook had developed a fault which need a repair or a replacement of component but the dear seller cannot do that for free because there is no warranty for that service.

I once bought an Acer Travelmate 2490 laptop, so many years back. When i bought the acer laptop, it only worked perfectly for 2 weeks, and it started giving me a hard drive warning. Most of the time when i see such warning, i shut down and reboot after 10 mins, but this problem was there for about 3 weeks, until i decided to see a repairer.

I saw the repairer and i was told the hard drive has been damaged before, and other faults associated with the damage. I ended up paying a total of $520 for the repairs.
I am so sure that if i had bought a new with an addition of the $520, i would have been able to afford an outstanding laptop computer.

So whenever i hear used laptop for sale, i don't even listen twice, because i know that at the long run, the used laptop will go back for repairs.
So why do that?

Way back on 12 March, we brought you news of an addition to Acer's Aspire range of notebooks.

At the UK launch in London on Thursday, we actually got our mitts on the new launches and found out there's more than just the CineDash multimedia console, the 16-inch screen, the fingerprint reader (which had only been a feature of business models) and the innards including the Intel Core 2 Duo, or Penryn, processor.

There is, in fact, also an 18.4-inch model, which comes in three different version ranging between £899.99 and £1399.99.

This is compared to the 16-inch model, which has a price point of between £699.99 and £1149.99. Both will arrive next month.

Unfortunately the Blu-ray player isn't standard throughout but Dolby True Surround Sound is.

In the higher spec models, this means five built-in speakers and a subwoofer, and in the cheaper models, two speakers and, again, the subwoofer.

Acer Ferrari Laptop - Too Hot To Handle

In the last few months the CPU temperature of my Acer Ferrari 4005 laptop has been getting higher and higher when idle or under load. I suspected it was just some dust reducing cooling efficiency but hadn't had chance to check it out. I was also putting it off as laptops generally aren't that easy to get into. Last week I was compiling a few applications as I was testing them for keywording bugs and the laptop shut itself down.

I rebooted and then resumed the emerge. I spotted the CPU temperature was up at 95 C and shortly after the laptop shut itself down again. Since then I had just left it turned off until I got a chance to look at it today. I found a very helpful article on Gentoo and the Acer Ferrari laptop which linked to a very helpful service manual as well as documenting how to get most of the hardware to work.

Twenty four screws later and I unclipped the keyboard to realise I didn't even need to undo any of the screws in order to clean the CPU heat sink and fan! I used the trusty blower that was intended for cleaning my SLR lenses to blow all the dust out of the fan and put the keyboard back. Booting back up and emerging something taxing showed a 25 C drop in temperature both idle and under load - and no sign of any more shutdowns.

I also spotted there is now a project to get the integrated memory card reader working under Linux. Apparently SD cards are already working (don't use them yet, but might if I manage to get hold of a Nikon D80) and xD support is planned which I would love to see as that it what my Fuji F10 uses. Looks like people have had success getting suspend to ram working too - I will have to see about getting that working when I get chance too.

Its keypad is average sized, but the spacebar and Enter key are a little small. We found the keys provided too much resistance and were spongy, making typing difficult.

Placing the speakers at the front has helped to make the sound more resonant. It also creates room for quick-access buttons at the rear of the keyboard and space to rest your palms at the front. Practical media and volume-control buttons are located next to the keyboard, but are close together and tricky to select. There's no scrolling panel, but a directional control device allows for minute vertical or horizontal movements.

Connecting to a, b and g wireless networks, the 5633WKMI has a useful switch to disable the wireless LAN, with another to activate Bluetooth. Its range of ports include four USB sockets, a VGA port and a five-in-one card reader. There's even a rotating 1.3Mp (megapixel) webcam for video conferencing.

The glossy screen suffers from poor viewing angles and light reflection, but on the whole is sharp with true colour reproduction. Although the Acer doesn't have the smallest dimensions, it is a light and perfectly portable entertainment laptop.
